The first quarter horse to join the ranks of the Peshina-Merrill family was Tuffy's Golden Dollar. The way he was acquired is a smooth way of a little girl tugging at her Daddy' s heartstrings and a father teaching her daughter how to do business.
One early morning ten- year old Paige made breakfast in bed for her Dad on father's day. During the meal she kept proclaiming how much she loved him. Then it happened after the meal, she asked him the big question, would you please buy Tuffy for me? Dad's answer, sure I'll give you this much and if you can get him for that amount you can get him. The problem: The asking price was a little bit higher than what Dad gave Paige to spend. The lesson to be learned by Paige negotiation.
That night Tuffy was Paige's and Dad was proud that his ten-year old daughter just completed her first business deal.
Ever since that night the quarter horses have been a huge part of our family's life.
Be it going to horse shows ever weekend with the whole family or just going riding to relax and get away from all your problems for a couple hours.
We have been fortunate enough to work with some great people in the quarter horse industry and hope to continue for a long while to come.
Below is a tiny part of our family's photo album showing some of the quarter horses we owned and loved.
