Marley Merrill became part of the Royal Wire family during the 1999 All-American Quarter Horse Congress when Tom and Paige purchased her from Mr. and Mrs. Bob Meneker of Ohio.

Paige spotted Marley in the barn area one day and just mentioned to Tom that she really found a cute puppy by the stalls. Tom said nothing back, so Paige figured there is no way she would end up with this puppy so she dropped the subject.

The next day Mr. Menker brought Marley up to our Royal Wire booth and that was it. She became part of the Royal Wire family.

What makes Marley so special is her mix of breeding and her unique looks. Marley is 3 parts Welch Corgi and one part Austrian Shepherd. She has the body of a Corgi and coloring of a Blue Merle Austrian Shepherd including blue specs in her eyes.

In October of 2000 Royal Wire ran a two-page spread in The Quarter Horse Journal and the Congress program to promote our new products that will be offered for sale at Congress. One page was with Royal Wire's horse Ms. Poco Van Snazzy, Brent, Tom Paige and Marley and the other page with the shots of the new products. The response to the ad was outrageous. Readers were calling in about Marley. They wanted to know what kind of dog she was, did Royal Wire breed and sell puppies.
